Daily Bulletin

Friday September 24th 2021

I am aware that some of you find this tough and find it very difficult to adapt to changes as we keep m.oving forwards. Some people see a gate to open and go through - and others see a mountain to climb instead of a gate. It's all about our own self-confidence or lack of it. So some of us enjoy the challenge of stepping up - and others are challenged by each new step.

Picture Michelle from New Zealand. She declared to me several months ago that it was time she took forex seriously after years of being too busy, having earthquakes, going to live in New York with her husband for a long time and coming back to NZ (and there's lots that I have left out).

So she demo-traded with an Australian Oanda account because there is no Oanda presence in NZ. And her determination paid off because her stated target of 2% a week has been achieved week after week after week, with only one week in several months when she didn't get the 2% ROI.

So then, having proved herself and made the going-live decision, she found out that she cannot under any circumstances have a live Oanda account in New Zealand.

Long story short, after discussing it with me, MIchelle has opened a trading account with an NZ broker and 'curses, curses' she had to get famiiar with using MT4 charts - which i hate - as does Michelle - but she did it. And we agreed that she would set the MT4 charts up to look as close as she can to Oanda's for the bulletin.

Now Folks - new broker, new platform, new charts, new everything - but Michele isn't daunted, she does not see a mountain, she sees a gate to the future.

I'll mention that, being in NZ means that she is directly at the wrong end of the world (like John and Alison in Oz) so she has to frequently trade through the night, after going to bed, as the market is centred around an opposite time-zone - but once again she sees a gate, not a mountain...

She REALLY misses the simplicity of Oanda, which most of us take for granted, and often have a grump about - and there's more - but Michelle never sees a mountain in front of her she only sees a gate.

I thought I would end this week with an email from her that I received this morning. If you are seeing mountains in front of you instead of a gate to the future - think of Michelle's challenges and maybe get a better perspective, and take a good, long look at what you thought was a mountain - and I think you'll find that it's a gate, after all...

Hi Sid and Rhonda

quick note just to say , yes 2% makes such a difference - I just hit 4% for the week for the first time :) I am aware it can go the other way, especially as most of my trades are done over night so would hit SL, but I figure even if 1 in 3 went back on me I would still be moving forward. I’ve been plodding along steadily for several weeks and realising I can do it now. I do have my live account set up and ready to go but just haven't cut the umblical cord yet with lovely Oanda…I will !

thanks so much for all the help Sid - thanks Rhonda for posting on the forum and all your trades - I get very inspired by your trades and study them.
This trading strategy is brilliant for many reasons but particularly for us workers and the ability to do it in absolutely any time zone . Love it.

Michelle

Have a wonderful weekend Folks

Relevant Details & Your Plan*: Apologies this report is late. ET&S meeting analysis found the weekly had reversed in June from a meaningful point. Weekly sentiment down but I noted a recent bounce in August from 128.00, which was also a historic support point. Another bounce appeared to be under way and my decision from the weekly was to trade this as a pullback against the longer term sentiment.

Found a pullback candle in the 1 hr chart for an entry point and elected to trade in the 8 hr chart, with a wide stop. Recent price action meant that I was only targeting TP1 and I planned to manage this closely.

Trade was slow to get going and it did briefly reverse against me at 11am. The news announcements from 12 noon onwards helped the trade along. All looked good until I was called away unexpectedly with no opportunity to manage the trade. Closed the trade and took the screenshot but only able to submit the report this morning.

Once again, thanks for a good, clear report. It did go on but only about 20 pips before stalling, as you expected. Nice ROI ;-)

Relevant Details & Your Plan*: Thanks Rhonda another heads up this currency was about to turn at the bottom of this established channel. When I came to it it was still early days in the bounce with just the second green candle started and no clear pullbacks in the lower charts. GBPs were correlating and looked to be on their way up.

As it was late at night for me I decided to use the 8hr where there was a slight pull back on the A candle and set an entry order further up past the wicks to the left . Aware I was going to bed on this wanted more certainty the bounce was established and gave what I considered to be a reasonable SL based on the weekly picture. TP was triggered overnight. Didn't set TP2 as couldn't monitor it.

:

OVERALL RATING (1 to 5)*: 3 stars

:
Relevant Details & Your Plan*: This NZD pair and many others seemed to have reacted and been rejected at significant barriers, poised for a fall, this one at 0.9040. If it has reversed there is plenty of downward room for a long term trade. As is common price bounced around for over a week before looking like it was ready to drop. I selected a pull-back candle in the 4H and placed my grid on with my entry coinciding with the low from last week and the sideways. Price did break lower, but then retraced back and I made the decision to exit the trade. I think I should have possibly had a bigger stop and pushed it up towards the barrier, and possibly had more faith as it seems to be falling now.

I think the weekly tells us this was the right idea - I agree with the three times weekly rejection points, starting in July last year, again in March this year, before the weekly triple rejection over the last three weeks (which tells it's own tale). There was every reason to be optimistic of a sell in the weekly, which is where the decision to sell would normally be made. And in fact, it has now reached 8882 and is on it's way to your TP1. Nice to see you trading ;-)

Excellent and very meaningful for you because despite
at least 10 weeks you have hit your self-imposed goal of 2%.
I think it's actually more than that - and only missed it on
one of all those weeks.

But this week, you doubled that to a beautiful 4%. The first time
you've ever done that. WELL DONE Michelle, I'm proud of you ;-)
